NYLON:
The most used synthetic fibre, owing to its resistance.
FEATURES:
Yarn of dull or bright colour, very resistant to abrasion, moths and bacteria.
Tensile strength: 4 to 7 gr./denier.
Density: 1,14
Heat reaction: very difficult to
ignite. It softens at 235 ºC and melts at 260 ºC, forming
hard balls smelling of celery.
Sensitive to: mineral acids, formic, acetic, concentrated, and certain phenols.
Resistant to: strong alkalis (ammonia, soda).
Good resistance to abrasion. |
